Memorial Day Weekend

It has been a fun weekend so far and it's still not over! Saturday we had a big party at Rich's parents house for their anniversary. There were a lot of people there and lots of yummy food. Richie was good for most of the 7 hours we spent there, except that he fell down their stair twice. My poor baby. The first time wasn't too bad, but the second time he hit his head on the cement and cried for a while. Needless to say, we left shortly after that happened.

Today I met up with Tiffany, John, and Dominic at Navy Pier. They came into Chicago to visit relatives so we planned a trip downtown. It was a beautiful day and the view of the lake was awesome. We also visited the children's museum where Richie and Dominic had a blast. There was so much for them to play with. Both the boys were behaving really well until Richie went head-first into the water at their "Water Works" area. Of course everything went downhill for him from there on. It was still a great day and it was nice to see Tiffany again.

Here are some pictures from Navy Pier and the Children's Museum.

Avon

A friend of mine, Lisa, started selling Avon a couple of weeks ago. We talked about me selling it, and she put in a referal for me. I recieved a call yesterday from an Avon Representative, who was extremely nice by the way, and we set up an appointment to sign me up today. I'm excited because I already have a few people telling me that they can't wait for me to start selling it, and they're gonna buy stuff all the time from me. I just hope it goes well. I just need something while I'm not working (which hopefully won't be for much longer).

UTI

Yep, I have one, and wow is it annoying. It started on Mother's Day (great present, huh?) and it's still going strong. I took some of that Azo to relieve the pain and I started some antibiotics, so hopefully it will be gone soon.

Other than the UTI, Mother's Day was nice. Rich and Richie made me homemade cards, and they were so sweet that I cried when I read them. I begged Rich not to spend any money on me so I'm really glad that he listened to me. I also had my interview that day and was promised a call back after their grand opening the first week of June, so I'll just keep looking until then.

After my interview we went to Rich's parent's house for bar-b-qued ribs, corn, and more. It was really good and Richie had a lot of fun playing with his cousins (as usual). Later we went to visit my parents and then headed home.

Here are some pics from Mother's Day ... Richie with his cousins, Lina (4) and Darren (2).

Interview

I have an interview this Sunday for a new job!!! I'm so excited. It's a brand new bar/restaurant/club that opened very close to my house. It's the first place I applied to because I really really wanted to work there. They weren't even finished building it when I put my application in. I pray that I get this job and that I love it.

Need a Job

Ok, so I've been out of work for about a month now and I really miss the work world. I miss the adult interaction and the extra spending money. I hate the thought of starting out as the "new girl" again though. I don't know why I get such a fear of finding a new job, but I do. It always works out where I get along with everyone, so why this fear??? A huge fear this time is, besides getting to know everyone, is that I'm totally trying something new. I really want to start bartending, but I've never done it and have no clue what it takes. I'm not even a drinker, so I really have no experience with alcohol whatsoever. I learn really quickly and can teach myself most things, so I'm sure I'll catch on quickly, but it's nerve wracking to think about it.

On a lighter note, for me anyway, I had one of the best weekends ever. Richie and I spent the weekend in Grand Rapids, Michigan with 9 of my friends plus some of their husbands and all of their kids. There were quite a lot of us there. We had so much fun though, and I can't wait to do it again soon! Here are some pics from Michigan.

Thanks to everyone who was there! You made my weekend great!!!
